Our programs are a mult-disciplined (mixed-martial-art) approach which focuses on developing self-defense, fighting skills, improved fitness, awareness and mental conditioning for novice, advanced and professional (LEO / MIL / Security) needs.
Realizing that each individual differs in aptitude and interest, we offer several training options: Introductory programs (short-term), specialized skill programs (knife, baton, integrated force), and our recognized legacy martial art programs (Kali-JKD, Muay Thai, etc) with accredited instructor certification for qualifying candidates.
Sifu/Guro Christopher Clarke, has been teaching and sharing the Inosanto method of Jeet Kune Do, Kali and related disciplines in the Northwest since 1987 beginning with the Portland State University Kali / Jun Fan Club; The first Portland visit by Thai Boxing Association USA Master Surachai Sirisute in1988, and hosting Si Gung Inosanto's first-ever Portland seminar in January 1992.

The Portland Academy of Martial Arts opened later that year and offered daily classes in Filipino Martial Arts, Jun Fan Gung Fu, Thai Kickboxing and Pentjak Silat with instructor Steven Plinck. Other notable guest instructors included Pendekar Paul DeThouars, Sifu Larry Hartsell, and Shooto World Champion Erik Paulson.
Sifu Clarke was promoted by Si Gung Inosanto in 1998 to Full Instructor in both FMA and JKD. NW KALI offered daily classes, and featured regular guest instructors, including: Si Gung Inosanto, Ajarn Chai Sirisute, Master Francis Fong, and Erik Paulson, Savate masters Nic Saignac and Salem Assli.
Sifu Clarke contributed heavily to law enforcement training and curriculum development for police departments and law enforcement agencies in Washington, Oregon and California.

Drawing on 40 years of experience, Sifu/Guro Clarke continues to expose and share the curriculum of Jun Fan Gung Fu / JKD, Filipino Kali - Eskrima - Arnis and Maphilindo Silat and firearms into an organic approach to MMA striking and close-quarter self-defense fundamentals for civilians and professional guardians with seminars, group classes and private instruction.
